1 November, 2022
Kerala Day is celebrated on November 1st to commemorate the foundation of the state of Kerala. It is also known as Kerala after the Malayalam word “piravi” which means birth. Kerala Piravi therefore literally means the birth of Kerala. This day is observed to mark the date on which Malayalam-speaking regions where unified into one state.
We, the Natural Science batch of 2022-24 of Mar Theophilus Training College celebrated Kerala Day in our classroom with the permission of our principal Dr.K.Y Benedict sir and on behalf of our mam, our guider Mrs. Shyney Jacob.
The programme started at 2pm with a prayer. Then a song related to Kerala piravi was sung by Devika M.S. After that, Sr Ranit Jose D M presented a speech about Kerala Day. With the touch of a classical dance on the song ‘Kera nirakalaadum’ a popular film song explaining the beauty of Kerala by Arathi S.R gives a final touch.
A small exhibition was also organized with the involvement of all the seven student- teachers. A poster, a bottle work, a model of Kerala using seeds of pista, chart drawing, a small essay on Kerala day, Keralapiravi Quiz are the works included in the exhibition .The programme ended at 2.20pm. But within a short of time we managed to do our best for the small programme to be successfully concluded.
