Off to field tripπŸ€—

 January 20, 2023

It's Friday. Let's go for a trip. Not a normal pleasure trip but a field trip. But field trip can also be a pleasure trip with a little bit memories.

All optional organized their field trips in places of their own choice. We planned the trip to 3 destinations- veli, zoologicalpark and museum. Our journey starts at 10 am from palayam and we went off to veli as 2 groups. One group with 2 members in two wheeler and rest in our mentor Mrs Shiney Jacob mam's car. We reached at our first destination at 10.30 am.

The Veli tourist Village is only 12 kms from the capital Thiruvanathapuram, and is a wonderful and relaxing escape from the city. There are many boating and picnicking opportunities to avail, a children's park with fooating cafe for family fun, speedboats and other water transport to rent for those with a spirit of adventure.

First we went for boating. As we paid for speed boat we split into 2 groups of 4 members each and started with a fresh drive in the lake. After that we moved on to the park and spotted some beauties of nature. At 11.20 am we went to the veli beach. The roaring waves coming to the shore, a feeling that the wind has stored in its wings seperate our soul from our body. It was a pleasant noon. From there we went to a restaurant Flottida KTDC, Veli and had our lunch. After the food and a short reels at 2 pm we went off to our next destination.

At 2.30 pm we reached in our next destination- Zoological park, Thiruvanathapuram. One of the first zoos in India, the Zoological Park or zoo located in Thiruvananthapuram city, was established as early as 1859. Spread over 30 acres of land and located in the capital city the zoo offers rare opportunity for the visitors to experience and enjoy unparalleled picturesque and panoramic surroundings besides vivid animal collections. Zoo has two natural lakes where more than 60 species of free ranging birds including migratory birds can be see throughout the year.

Getting our entry tickets without any waste of time visited the zoo and collected details of maximum species of animals and bird varieties in a limited time. Such a vast area it is organized that a half day is not enough for a walk around it. After a race inside the zoo(not a running race) we exit out at 4.30 pm. After a short break of tea time we went to aquarium. There we noticed many varieties of fishes with peculiar features  ( Colour, size, fins, morphology). In front of the aquarium there is government botanical garden with wide varieties of flowers. From there we visited museum and clicked a last photo of our one day trip. At 5.30 pm we went back to palayam earlier spot of waiting and then headed toward home with a memorable day.
