Day 1 of teaching practice

First phase of teaching practice has started. Completed 9 lesson plan and 5 chart. It was my first day in St Mary's HSS School, Pattom. Reached school at 9am and we 15 B.Ed trainees of MTTC went to meet HM and Principal and marked our attendance of first day. We had allotted main auditorium for our stay. My concerned teacher Judith took a week leave due to paper evaluation. So she gave me duty to manage her classes in her absence. For managing she gave me some questions and answers to be write. In accordance with the timetable I got 6 classes to manage. In it 2 were my assigned class. On fifth hour I went to 9 D and the portion that I took "Anaerobic respiration and Fermentation" was not in my lesson plan because my assigned topics were on the next chapter. But I completed a topic and gave some activities to them. Next class on 6 th hour I went to 8 U. It was a little bit troublesome class, the students are not much obedient. Also managing the class is a big task. Unfortunately I got time to complete half of my lesson plan "Indigenous varieties and agricultural organisation"and I have to be well planned for my next class. At the lunch break I got noon duty to supply food. On evening also I got line duty and went back home at 4.20pm.

 January 20, 2023 It's Friday. Let's go for a trip. Not a normal pleasure trip but a field trip. But field trip can also be a pleasure trip with a little bit memories.  All optional organized their field trips in places of their own choice. We planned the trip to 3 destinations- veli, zoologicalpark and museum. Our journey starts at 10 am from palayam and we went off to veli as 2 groups. One group with 2 members in two wheeler and rest in our mentor Mrs Shiney Jacob mam's car. We reached at our first destination at 10.30 am.  The Veli tourist Village is only 12 kms from the capital Thiruvanathapuram, and is a wonderful and relaxing escape from the city. There are many boating and picnicking opportunities to avail, a children's park with fooating cafe for family fun, speedboats and other water transport to rent for those with a spirit of adventure.  First we went for boating. Day 5 of teaching practice

 10 October, 2023 Reached school at 9:00 a.m. and marked the morning attendance. I had morning line duty from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Day starts with a prayer. Today I had two classes. One in 9 D on the fifth hour and in 8 U on the 6th hour. On the 4th hour I went with malavika of English to manage her substitution class on 9 L. On the fifth hour I take class on 9 D on the topic "Vital capacity", "Respiration in other organisms" and "Respiration in plants". I had completed my two lesson plan using appropriate teaching aids such as ICT chart and activity cards. I grouped them, gave them activities and also gave notes and collected it in the end of my class. Then I went to 8 U and introduced a new chapter "Why classification" using ICT . Day 18 of teaching practice

 14 November, 2023 Today is November 14 , Children's day. A rally of small children was organised in the St. Mary's school. Reached school at 8.45 am and marked the morning attendance. Today was our 2 nd observation day. For the observation I arranged the class in 9 D on fourth hour. I already have hour on 5th and 6th period in 9 D and 8 U respectively. Shiney ma'am went for observation in Sruthy's and Sr ranit' s class on 3rd hour and came to my class on fourth hour and wrote down my positives and suggestions for improvement in the next class. I completed one lesson plan on the topic " Excretion in other organisms" of the chapter "Excretion to maintain homeostasis" in that hour. On the 5 th hour in the same class I taught the next topic and further completed another lesson plan on the topic " Excretion in plants",  thus completed that chapter.
